Today I share with you two stunning, feminine birthday cards created with the “Lovely When You Smile” paper collection by Craft O’Clock. Each card measures 15,24 cm x 15,24 cm (6″ x 6″) and includes a decorative window AND a gift-card holder! These cards are very easy to make in only a few simple steps! Let me show you how!
Lovely When You Smile
Cut a piece of 30,5 cm x 30,5 cm (12″ x 12″) paper in half and fold to create the two card bases.
Use a decorative card to trace a rectangle on the front of each card base. Cut out the rectangle with a craft knife or paper trimmer, and adhere the decorative card inside the card base so it shows through the window.
Cover the front of the card with a piece of paper from the 15,24 cm x 15,24 cm (6″ x 6″) collection, trimmed down to fit. To trim, trace the window shape, cut out the rectangle, remove, and trim the outside edges of the paper so the card base shows through.
Cut a piece of clear plastic or acetate and glue it inside the window. Use one of the envelope cut-aparts and/or pocket cut-aparts from the Junk Journal Extras to Cut Set as the gift card holder.
Use small strips of paper from the collection to glue around the outside of the window, inside and out. Then, cut corners and adhere them in each corner of the window to finish the look. Embellish with Extras to Cut and Flowers from the collection.
