Black is Beautiful | Card Inspiration

Today I am sharing a gorgeous card I made with Technique Junkies’ “Beautiful Faces” stamp set and the Craft O’Clock “Vintage Treasure” paper collection. This honestly, might be one of my favorite projects EVER! It’s so pretty!

To create this card…

  1. I stamped the image TWICE and the sentiment ONCE using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The stamped image cut off the top of the girl’s hair, so I used a Micron Pen to fill in the top of her head. I colored one image of the girl with Spectrum Noir Markers. Then, I poured a few drops of “Worn Saddle” Shimmering Bliss spray into a little dish and used a paintbrush to brush some shimmery brown into the girl’s hair. I love this look!

2. I used the Stitched Circle Ring Die Set by Creek Bank Creations to die cut both images of the girl, cutting the colored image one size smaller than the uncolored image. I did, however, color a few strands of hair on the larger circle-cut image because I knew they would show through. Then, I inked the edges of the larger circle with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.

3. I glued a piece of scrap cardboard behind the small-circle-girl and adhered it right on top of the larger circle image. Then, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut my sentiment.

4. I used a sheet of “Vintage Treasure” paper by Craft O’Clock as my card panel, and adhered a few fussy-cut flowers and a fussy-cut butterfly from the collection around the stamped image and sentiment. I added a few pearl embellishments from my stash, and that’s it!
