Tutorial | Festive Winter Card

Today I am sharing my latest creation: a 6″ x 6″ card featuring a beautiful, wintery bouquet of blues, pinks and silver snow. Let’s celebrate the season of winter long past the traditional holiday time!

For this project, I used the “Frosty Sparking” paper collection by Craft O’Clock.

I trimmed about 1/4″ (.64 cm) from two adjacent sides of one sheet of paper from the 6″ x 6″ (15,24 cm x 15,24 cm) collection. That trimmed sheet will serve as the card panel and will fit on the front of the card.

I cut an asymmetrical triangle from a scrap of cardboard and covered it with another sheet from the paper collection.

After that, I just layered cut-out flowers and leaves until I achieved the look I wanted. To create multi-layer poinsettia flowers, I glued one on top of the other. Then, I poked a hole in the center and attached a brad.

For a final touch, I wrapped a ribbon around the cardboard triangle and used a paintbrush to apply a little “Glossy Accents” to the petals and leaves. While the “Glossy Accents” was still wet, I used my “Pixie Puffer” to dust a fine glitter. Then I glued the whole thing to the card base. Beautiful!

  1. I watched your video about using scraps.. thank you for showing how you can use acrylic paints. I have so many and all the cardmaking videos try to sell the alcohol ink markers. I wondered if I could use acrylics. Going to try some ways to use it. Again thank you.
