Multi-Cultural Women Card by Sandpaper Road – Technique Junkies Stamps

Today, I am sharing a card I created a while back using the Beautiful Faces stamp set from Technique Junkies. This is a wonderful stamp set, and it has lots of possibilities!

First, I stamped the “Beautiful” sentiment on blue cardstock using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

I experimented with multiple colors of Stampin’ Up! stamping ink and my Stamping Platform to create the various hues and tones of skin and hair. To do this, I stamped the same image repeatedly three times one on top of the other, using a combination of Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Creamy Caramel ink pads.

To create the lightest image, I used a second-generation impression of the three ink colors one on top of the other (instead of a pure first-generation impression). Also, I created a mask to stamp the “blonde-haired” woman’s hair so the outline of her face wouldn’t be the same blonde as her hair. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the skin, lips and eyes.

I used a stitched rectangle die from my stash to cut my cardstock panels. Then, I tied a thin piece of gold fiber around the top two panels and tied a simple bow. I mounted the panels with thin, dimensional craft foam to my blue base panel. Finally, I adhered the base panel to my card base.

Thank you for looking! And, don’t be afraid to experiment with your stamping! You can make beautiful things!
